welcome!!! |
For anyone that has been to Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, knows it is absolutely beautiful. It's a great place for a race, except when in a wheelchair....... all of the speed bumps proved to be quite a challenge for Donovan, but one he conquered with ease!!! Apparently he became airborne a couple times according to his bike shadow, Dawn. No record set today, but a good race had by all!!! Great job on the Courthouse Run from Project XOXO!!! Chip time 18:13.

40 South News published an article with several good pics from the Milk Donor Dash in Maplewood!! Donovan made the article!! Check it out here!!! Super proud parents right here!!!
Tonight's race proved to be pretty amazing!! Not only did his race buddy, Jason come join him in racing, but the Road Warriors helped to make his birthday extra special!! They even brought him balloons!!! The race was the Hecker Tiki Trot 5k. This race coarse is at night and is lined with tiki torches!! This race is really neat to run!! His time was 15:40, and it earned him quite the trophy!!!
This morning brought a challenging coarse with the Milk Donor Dash in Maplewood, MO. Most of it UPHILL!! This coarse proved to be pretty challenging for Donovan. He wasn't very satisfied with his overall time of 21:19. He came in 3rd overall. He was pretty upset with himself, although for only racing since technically April, I thought that he proved to do quite well. Just another round of practice I guess!!
Second race of the day was the Bulltown Run in Imperial, MO. This proved to be his best 5k yet!! Thanks to Dawn for biking with him again today!! His chip time was 14:28!!! Donovan competed with a couple of his teammates from Team DASA today on the streets of St. Charles, MO near the Katy Trail. It was an early morning 5k. His bike shadow, Dawn, accompanied him on his adventures today! It was an awesome race!! Not only did Donovan set a new PR (personal record) for a 5 mile race, but he also had another grueling crash and burn during the race!!! His previous 5 mile record was an astounding 26:49. Today, he averaged an amazing 4:59min / mile with a total coarse time of 24:57!! A special thanks to Fleet Feet for doing such an amazing job timing and everyone that put on / volunteered for the race, they did an amazing job!!!
